Red Jeans Take 1

So I have been MIA for a while and neglecting the blog and would like to say 2 things; 1st: I am sorry and 2nd: it was worth it!

I started a new fantasy blog as well that you can check out here and I also have a few other projects that will be coming out later this year and I cannot wait to share once everything is finalized.

So I don’t know about you’ll but I do feel dressing stylish even under stressful circumstances is important and the key to not losing your head when dressing is to know your primary colours like your nudes, whites, blacks, navy and grey using those colours and working from there.

This look post outfit was put together after I had 2 hours of sleep and working till late, so the last thing on my mind was to spend time thinking of what to wear. I put on accessories to cover up my laziness so it would look like I thought about my outfit out in advance.

Colourful jeans are my go to these days; it could be because I am basically obsessed with neutrals so I don’t want to look washed out so the pop of colour from my jean helps. Here are my tips with colourful jeans.

1.       Don’t colour block; there was a trend of colour blocking, but it has passed so don’t date your outfit by paring contrasting colours.

2.       Never wear prints on print; this can be pulled off, but I am talking about circumstances where you don’t have time and you dressing on the go.

3.        To look professional yet casual  try a T-shirt with a blazer over, or a formal shirt

4.        Keep accessories to a basic colour like gold’s or silver. I am all for matching but it is very easy to end up looking like you from early 2000, also don’t wear the same colour from head to toe; chances are you won’t find the same shade in jeans, top and shoe and you will end up looking like a walking colour board.

5.       Try to have dress accordingly to the occasion. A loud coloured skinny might not work in the office, but would look great on an outing with friends.

6.       Try and buy the skinny cut in coloured jeans as you will look on trend with this cut than others.

REVLON nail polish Review

I’m not someone who does the whole beauty routine, but I love trying new things learning new things so after receiving a wonderful package of nail polish from Revlon I just had to experiment.

So I have painted my nails before and I am not very good at it, but I tried so go easy on me as practice will make perfect and which I need a lot of.

I tried the Revlon 310 Vintage Rose, because I figured with Rose in the title it can only a girls dream colour.

Review: I did like the colour the day I painted my nails, but seem to lose interest in it as it's a bit on the dull side of a pink.

Next colour I used was 200 Stormy Night, I have used this colour before and you can see that post here

Review: I like this colour a lot because for me, it’s an earthy shade very natural, but I saw online get a lighter shade of grey mix while nail vanish into the grey and that is exactly what I did. I love it, but unfortunately I didn’t mix a lot so I ran out and couldn’t fix certain areas and was scared I wouldn’t get the exact colour again so I left it.

The next colour I used was the Revlon Nail Art NEON.

Review: the white nail vanish is right on trend and easy to use I love it and will use it in future again.

Press Release for Religion Clothing

The Religion Autumn/Winter 2014 collection has been inspired by the cult 70’s film ‘A Clockwork Orange’, in keeping with the brand’s signature dark aesthetic Religion has interpreted the film’s iconic use of shadow to give the collection an industrial, contemporary feel.

In keeping with the brand’s signature dark aesthetic, Religion presents a contemporary collection for Autumn/Winter 2014 that marries sharp tailoring with classic sportswear elements.

The colour palette is mostly monochromatic with dark, rich shades of Avocado, Blood Red and Majolica Blue lifted by bright injections of fluro Paradise Pink and Hot Coral. The aptly named ‘Decay’ print mixes pretty jewel-toned hues and while grey remains a seasoned classic, the inclusion of Whistles Heron, a dirtied lilac and the salmon pink Bossa Nova soften the mood. Collection highlights include cable knit-print light sweatshirts with subtle design details seen in contrasting colour panels featured on the shirts and blazers and the return of degradé dip-dye on knitwear.

Both the double-sided wool used on ‘Victorious’ coat and the reverse leather that has been used in the patchwork design of the ‘Sharp’ jacket serve to create subtle colour and texture contrasts. Lace has been re-worked the Religion way; netting gives the fabric a tougher feel, almost military, which can also be seen in the burnout detailing. The new rubber printing technique on the jerseys adds further texture and chiffon has been used to give the collection a feminine edge.

Logo and slogan-printed jerseys have been cut with a boxy shape to highlight Religion’s reference to their 90’s roots. Coats feature slimmer lines to previous seasons with the introduction of a cigarette pant adding to this feminine tailored story. Draping has been paired back with the option to style as desired and tops have also been designed in the boxy shape in line with the 90’s style reference.

Religion continues to expand its range of denim for A/W14, offering an array of colours prints and washes to compliment the casual elements in the collection.
