Colour bliss

I love colour, and each week I'll be posting about the colours in my life that I admire and how I brought them into my lifestyle as well as my wardrobe.

Pink in French is Rose (at least that is what Google translates told me) when I decided to start this colour post it was a no brainer to choose pink. I went about choosing my favourite things in shades of pink.

Pink shoes are so chic if worn the correct way.
For a formal look try: A white bodycon dress and pink shoes
For a casual look: Washed out jeans and white tee

Love my pink Samsung S4 Mini
but if this is too much of a commitment for you,
there is an easier option to get a  pink phone cover

If you are a major beauty product fan nothing better than lipsticks in pink

An easy way to add a pop of colour to an outfit at any time is an accessory

This is heaven sent for the hot summer days and you not a fan of shaving.

High Tea

I love anything Fancy so when my mothers friend invited us to a high tea I was overjoyed. It was held to raise funds for a orphanage in the south of Johannesburg.

The high tea consisted of a fashion show, auction and of course food! Where do I start oh yeah the beginning.

As always we arrived early, I really don't have a Indian clock, as we always seem to get to places early and the rest of the party arrives late, anyway being early means good seats. We had a right in the front I can touch the stage seat.

Unfortunately it was an Islamic event and photos was not encouraged and I didn't want to get kicked out so I didn't take any photos of the fashion show but if you follow me on instagram you know I took photos of the food.

My sister and I went halfsies on a cake on auction and oh my it was divine. We loved the design and didn't expect the cake to taste nice but to our surprise the cake was fresh and wonderful.

The high tea was done in a professional manner and had 2 wonderfully trained MC's hosting the event, it opened up with 2 sisters called the and they sang nasheeds from Mahir Zain their voices are gorgeous and they so in tune you will beg to realise a CD so you can take a piece of them home with you, then the fashion show began, it melted my heart instantly my weakness "Handbags" it was so on trend and perfect for the hijabista, then just when you thought things could get any better they had babies modelling and they were well trained and so adorable that if they made a boo boo you didn't mind, then came the sexy part the lingerie and to all the haters they did it in a true Islamic style. They dress a mannequin up in the lingerie and had a beautiful girl dressed in hijab and a mask to add mystery walk it down the catwalk, while we watched the show we snacked of a few things to keep us going and then was the action and things got heated with the "aunties"   after the auction we heard a story about one of the orphans that did not leave dry eye in the room and make us realise really how lucky we are to have a home. After that sad moment we got to snack on beautiful wonderful tasteful treats that really was very welcomed after all that entertainment.

The handbag I used for the high tea. This purse reminds me of The Great Gastby

Gone but never forgotten.

Hello December! I am sorry for my absents lately, but I am back and better than ever. So where have I been you ask?

In October I lost my last living grandparent, my grandfather and even thou I did I few posts after that it was only till I was settled in back at home that I fully started to develop this deep sadness of loss and disappointment.

I live in Johannesburg and my granddad lived in Cape Town, needless to say we didn't see each other often a week or two a year does not leave much time to bond. The memories I have with my grandfather are awesome but few.

We face death every day, yet we blind to the fact that we should do everything we can for the people we love. I was so glad when my grandfather came for my graduation in 2012. It was a once in a lifetime experience I am so happy I got to share it with him. I'm not the 1st grandchild to graduate in my family so it wasn't celebrated in a huge way, but having my grandfather come all the way from Cape Town meant a lot to me. After my graduation, I dreamt that the next big thing in my life would be my wedding and that my Grandfather would be that again to share the important moment with me. I won't say I was robbed of the chance. I look at it as a chance to embrace that day when it arrives with more love and warmth because of my grandparents.

I learned so much more of my grandfather after his death, the struggles he went under when he was a freedom fighter in the ANC, be belonged to a band, and most of all he was the worlds best dad. He would make my mother's and her siblings lunch for school and brush their hair, he even did the washing and ironing, and he loved his tea.

If you get to see your grandparents everyday just know that you are blessed and lucky in ways others only dream of.

So after much needed soul searching and emotional healing I feel I am ready to put forward my best and bring my blog to new highs fashion wise. I hope to step up my game and not be lazy and istagram, but to make a full post out it.
