Press Release for Religion Clothing

The Religion Autumn/Winter 2014 collection has been inspired by the cult 70’s film ‘A Clockwork Orange’, in keeping with the brand’s signature dark aesthetic Religion has interpreted the film’s iconic use of shadow to give the collection an industrial, contemporary feel.

In keeping with the brand’s signature dark aesthetic, Religion presents a contemporary collection for Autumn/Winter 2014 that marries sharp tailoring with classic sportswear elements.

The colour palette is mostly monochromatic with dark, rich shades of Avocado, Blood Red and Majolica Blue lifted by bright injections of fluro Paradise Pink and Hot Coral. The aptly named ‘Decay’ print mixes pretty jewel-toned hues and while grey remains a seasoned classic, the inclusion of Whistles Heron, a dirtied lilac and the salmon pink Bossa Nova soften the mood. Collection highlights include cable knit-print light sweatshirts with subtle design details seen in contrasting colour panels featured on the shirts and blazers and the return of degradé dip-dye on knitwear.

Both the double-sided wool used on ‘Victorious’ coat and the reverse leather that has been used in the patchwork design of the ‘Sharp’ jacket serve to create subtle colour and texture contrasts. Lace has been re-worked the Religion way; netting gives the fabric a tougher feel, almost military, which can also be seen in the burnout detailing. The new rubber printing technique on the jerseys adds further texture and chiffon has been used to give the collection a feminine edge.

Logo and slogan-printed jerseys have been cut with a boxy shape to highlight Religion’s reference to their 90’s roots. Coats feature slimmer lines to previous seasons with the introduction of a cigarette pant adding to this feminine tailored story. Draping has been paired back with the option to style as desired and tops have also been designed in the boxy shape in line with the 90’s style reference.

Religion continues to expand its range of denim for A/W14, offering an array of colours prints and washes to compliment the casual elements in the collection.

Review on the movie FROZEN

I am obsessed with animation movies! I don’t know how anyone at any age can’t just sit down with their families and watch an animation. The latest anime I’ve watched was FROZEN.

Frozen is about 2 sisters, the older sister has magic powers and the younger sister enjoys her sisters' powers till an accident happens and her memories are removed. The older sister, then goes into full on hiding out in her room, till they are grown up. Like all Disney stories the parents die and the older sister will become queen and the real adventure starts.

My thoughts on the movie:

I felt like I could relate to the relationship between the sisters. I felt it was real and dealt with 2 sisters trying to help each other, but without actually coming out and talking. I have an older sister and Elsa’s character is exactly the same as my sisters and I too feel like I would do anything to protect her.

I refuse to shut up about Frozen it’s a movie everyone should watch at least once.

The part that shocked me the most was when the prince turned out to be a jerk. The part I love most when Olaf made his appearance and said “Hi everyone I’m Olaf and I like warm hugs!” The princesses didn’t a prince to save them. It didn’t show the prince as sinless hero, it shows us girls that we can stand up and do things ourselves. I would of  loved in the end that either Elsa has a love interest or Anna gets magic power, but the movie is perfect as it is so go watch it and if you have let me know your thoughts on it.

Review on Strawberry picking

If you have me on social networks you would have had hints as to how I spent my holiday and one of the 1st activities I did was strawberry picking.

The farm is in Stellenbosch, and it’s known as Strawberry World. So as you get there you are handed a nice size tub and it's bombs away. Picking was way to fun, the sun was hot and the farm was big. I thought that there wouldn’t be a lot of strawberries because of all the people picking and strangely enough there was a lot and big size ones too, so I had a lot of fun and after picking we headed out and it was about 30bucks a kg so yeah good fun and not even breaking the bank.
That's my mama getting her share of picking

Zack looks like he was born to be a farmer.

Zack went all out with his picking dad and sis were a bit shy

I had fun my family had fun and I score it a 8/10
