Hope the holidays are going well and all your shopping is done. For a lot of people this time of year is either the best part of their year for their business or its holiday and family time for me its bargaining time because a lot of stores will soon be having a sale.

I consider myself a collector not like a weirdo hoarder no, more like a collector of beautiful, enjoyable, fun things and one of the best collections I have going is my shoe collection. It’s not filled with designer labels, but they are good looking shoes. So I decided to do a post on all the shoes I have already featured on my blog.   

 

Hope the new year will bring me and Zack many more shoes so I can do post about them.

Happy holidays everyone and if you live in the Gauteng area like I do you know that is hasn’t been sunshine, but rather rainbows and grey skies so I look post for today is me trying to be all summer ready but still having to endure the cold brought on by the rain.

Drizzles Summer List!

A while back, I was asked by an online magazine to write about my dos and Don'ts for summer and you can read it here and this inspired me to today's post.

Top 10 things to get for the best summer ever!!!

1.       Sun screen

My skin colour is much lighter than Zack so I don't mind tanning compared to him so he uses the highest SPF available where I prefer a lower one.

2.       Sunglasses

I love funky frames, but if you are going away and can only take one pair with you op for a solid colour frame it will make every outfit look summer ready instead of your outfit competing with your sunnies.

3.       Water bottle

I love being out and about, but sometimes the heat gets to me and I prefer things between cold and room temp, therefore I keep a water bottle with me so I can balance out the ice water I buy from a store with the water I have.

4.       Summer dresses

Summer is here and less is more so I prefer dresses that I don't have to add a lot to that are fancy all on there on and all I have to do is add a flat shoe and I am ready to go.

5.       Bag

 

I love big bags specially now when its early mornings and late nights I don't have time to change my handbag everyday or have time to make sure I got everything before I leave so with a big handbag I know everything I want is in the bag.

6.       Fun list

It's summer, I won't be doing much but I make up a list that I can tick things off so I feel like I am being productive.

7.       Gig guide

Knowing when and where the fun is happening can help instead of driving around for hours trying to find something fun to do.

8.       Ice cream

It's hot and the best way to cool down is ice cream why not have 3 a day?

9.       Camera

I prefer taking photos with a camera than with a phone so keep it close by because its summer time.

10.   People to enjoy your summer vca with

Having people around just fun things up and the best things happen when there others to enjoy it with.

Tribute to the Great Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, Hamba Gashle Nelson Mandela

 

We have heard the sad news of the passing of the Great Nelson Mandela. Today my post will be a tribute to the Great Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. He was a man of greatness. He was the example we should all try to be. He was an intelligent, hard working, stylish, and successful man. Men all over copied his fashion since he made it okay to have your shirt untucked in public.

He was a fashion icon not only did he dress well, but he led fashion for older men who would want a more fashionable appearance without looking like they are going through a mid life crisis. He made it legit for men to wear fancy prints on shirts. 

 

 

 

I remember my mom buying my dad Mendela inspired shirts and it is very elegant and tasteful. As a South African I am so proud to have been born in the lifetime of Nelson Mandela I only wish I got to meet him.

My first memory of Nelson Mandela was in 1994 when he was elected and I heard about it on the radio. Watching him on TV he looked so humble and peaceful he didn’t seem to be caught up in a lot of mambo jumbo.

 

 

 

 

A lot of places have been named after the Great Nelson Mandela.

The Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton.

 The Nelson Mandela stadium in PE

The Nelson Mandela Bridge in Johannesburg

The South African Currency changed it to have Nelson Mandela's face on it and it have to say I love it, nothing like having a wallet full of Mandela's to put you in a good mood.

I heard the news late on Thursday and I felt a deep sadness, even though I didn’t know him personally I felt his loss I felt almost incomplete for a while thinking back to what hardships he went through and where he ended up because of it.

The world felt his loss too, and showed their sadness by displaying the South African Flag in lights

The Empire State building in New York.

The Eiffel Tower in Paris

The Omni Hotel in Dallas, Texas.

Zack and I would like to send our condolences to Nelson Mandela's family and friends. Hamba Gashle Nelson Mandela.
