The Lucky Brand CSI donation drive hits all three flagship stores and Edgars stores this August!

Good news for all fashion lovers with a big heart!

A whopping 1393 denims were collected when Lucky Brand ran its CSI initiative in April 2014 inviting shoppers to bring a pair of their pre-loved jeans into Lucky Brand Eastgate, Centurion Mall and The Pavilion Westville flagship stores to receive a fifty percent discount on the purchase of a new pair of Lucky Brand denims.  To further spread the good vibes, this CSI initiative, affectionately known as #LuckyDenimSOS, is back and it’s coming to Lucky Brand Eastgate, The Pavilion Westville, the newly opened Centurion Mall flagship stores as well as Edgars stores that stock Lucky Brand from 14 August to 30 September 2014.

All denims collected will again be donated to the SOS Children’s Villages, which run a project in Port Elizabeth whereby repurposed denims are sold for profit by women in the community, who are able to support themselves through this creative initiative.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with SOS Children’s Villages South Africa again.  Since the first drive was such a huge success, we have decided to repeat the campaign in all the three flagship stores and introduce it to Edgars stores that stock Lucky Brand.  We are hoping to knock our previous record out of the park”, says Group CSI Manager, Mercia Maserumule.

Participating Edgars stores are:
Eastgate, Sandton, Menlyn, Westville, Gateway, Clearwater Mall, Canal Walk, Fourways, Tyger Valley, Waterfront V&A, Woodlands, Melrose Arch, Rosebank Mall, East Rand Mall, Greenacres, Centurion, The Glen, Kolonade, Loch Logan, Highveld Mall, Midlands Mall, Somerset West, Cape Gate, Brooklyn and Walmer Park.

“The donations of old denim jeans may seem small and insignificant but it has the power to change the lives of a group of fifteen women and children in Port Elizabeth.  The ladies will be up cycling the old denims into functional items, such as placemats, handbags, Christmas decorations and more.  SOS Children’s Villages South Africa wish to thank the Lucky Brand stores and all its customers for assisting us to empower women in the communities we serve”, says SOS Children’s Village PR & Event Coordinator, Leigh Swartz.

Originating in Los Angeles, Lucky Brand has quickly made a name for itself as ‘America’s favourite’. The brand can be found in selected Edgars stores with stand alone stores in Eastgate Shopping Centre, Centurion Mall and The Pavilion.
